Shoulder Pain - Personal Diagnosis and Treatment Advice
Diagnosing the cause of shoulder pain involves assessing the degree of movement and muscular strength around the joint. Some of the conditions that commonly cause shoulder pain include:

  • Strains, due to overexertion
  • Tendonitis, due to overuse
  • Shoulder instability
  • Shoulder dislocation
  • Collar or upper arm bone fractures
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Pinched nerves

Physiotherapy can help
Neck and shoulder pan can be successfully treated with physiotherpy. You don't need a doctor's referral. The physiotherapist will investigate the pain and determine its cause. Treatment depends on the cause, but may include.

We offer appointments from 9.00am to 6.00pm
Mon to Fri. Home visits are available to those whom because of disability are unable to attend the clinics. Initial appointments are 45 minutes but can be 1 hour. Subsequent appointments will vary with the problem and will range from 30-45 minutes.

Before any action is taken, the physiotherapist will assess your condition, diagnose the problem and help you to understand what is wrong. They will work with you to develop an effective treatment plan that takes into account your lifestyle, leisure activities and general health. This will include advice on how you can help yourself, for example, you may be shown exercises that you can do between treatment sessions.
